Question 2006 Corolla LE ECU Nightmare!

Hello all,

I have a major issue with understanding how the replacement of a ECU works in my car. I have a model 89661-02K53 and replaced it with the same model. The new one is throwing so many codes. I took to to Toyota and they said I have to replace the ECU....again! This will be my third attempt. Looking for any advice.

Here are the issues:
1) Imobilizer code even though the keys have been matched and the car starts
2) Ransom sensor errors that come and go away. Had sensors tested ad they are fine.
3) The engine will sometimes drop RPM to 2K and will not go higher until I completely shut off the car for 10 seconds. It starts and runs fine.
4) VIN number on the ECU does not match my car anymore.

I sure hope this can be fixed. This is the most frustrating thing I've ever dealt with in a car!

Thanks,

Will
