Default 4runner or highlander?

I have never owned a car but will be purchasing one soon. I am an avid fisherman and will be towing 2-3 times per week sometimes distance of up to 200 miles. Most towing will happen within 30 miles though. The boat and trailer I own weighs between 1500 to 1700 pounds. I travel long distances when not towing and want good gas mileage Will a highlander v6 3.0 L between the years 2000-2005 get the job done. I am a college student and need to stay under 10,000 for a vehicle. Should I go to a tacoma or a 4runner instead?

If you will be using the car for towing and 4runner would be better to have it has larger wheels and engine.

First of all you have to check that the condition of both the cars then which looks better so you can owned it.According to my point of view 4Runner is a good car than Highlander in durability and engine wise.Well everyone has its own choice.

I agree with this. It's really up to the condition of the vehicle you're going to buy. I also own a 4runner. I am not bias but I am really satisfied with it.

Have you ever decided already? You can't go wrong with a 4runner for hauling, especially that long miles.
