hello 1994 high top hiace

hi we bought a hiace but on our first night out (so glad the grand kids wasnt with us ) we noticed the engine getting hot we stopped waited and it took a bout 3- 4 litres of water , a chap in our garage says its the radiator, i wish we werent so trusting .the fridge didnt work. the air con fan stuck, im feeling sick, we took a loan for £7500 we though what a great van for day trip with thr grand kids and night away for our selfs , the more i read about the repairs and a cost the sicker i feel : ( has anyone here had this work done that can cheer me up
