Default 2007 toyota yaris Oil question?

I bought a used yaris over a month ago.
I checked the oil its a redish color. What color is it supposed to be and how hight should the oil be on the dip stick? its not clear, the marking says cool and hot. unless im checking the wrong fluid im a girl I just need some help

aparantly i checked the transmission fluid how can i tell if my transmission flids at a good level

There are two marks on the transmission dip stick. One is the lower mark (Cold) and the other mark is (Hot). Please always check the transmission oil with the engine start and the gear lever stick at P. The oil level should be at "Cold" when the oil is checked with the engine in cold position. When, the car is driven at least three to five minutes, engine reaches at the operating temperature and the radiator fan becomes on, the oil level should be at the upper mark that is, "HOT". Please note again that the transmission oil is always checked with the engine start and gear lever stick at P.
