Rio Ferdinand urges Lions to stay with Rudiger

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has urged Chelsea’s board of directors how much they need to pay to keep Antonio Rudiger at the club.

The 28-year-old defender has had an outstanding performance since Thomas Tuchel took over as the club’s boss. He played an important role in helping the team to win the UEFA Champions League last season. This year he has played outstandingly, scoring two goals in 11 games in the Premier League.

With his contract expiring in the summer of 2022 and reportedly demanding £200,000-a-week wages with no progress at this time, Ferdinand has pointed out that the Blues have to commit to hold on

“I think they have to pay him (Rudiger) so he feels he deserves the pay he feels it should be at the top of the team,” Ferdinand told B. T Sport

“No matter who is the highest paid person. I think he sees himself as part of that. If you look at the players in the team you don’t want to lose. For weeks or games He will be one of the first on your list in the sense that you would like to have it.”

“With his influence, his aggression. He’s involved in a lot of times and when they need to close the defense. He’s the one who’s going to be there.”
