to be replaced, my question is, what if I let it go without changing for some time, is it going to cause what kind of problems in my car? is it dangerous to be in the highway with a problem like this? is it an expensive piece? Does pressure have something to do with it?

I need some support here. Thanks in advance.

Bobweb may have something there. Do it sooner rather than later because it will hurt fuel economy and your emissions! ;-)=

If you can remove the screws (sometimes they're tamper resistant type), you can try cleaning the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor to remove impurities that build up on the wire sensor. Usually, only a yellow flashing check engine light means you need immediate service. Any red colored dash light also means you need immediate service according to your car's owner's manual.
