Hello, I own a 2006 AWD toyota matrix.I bought it used with 11k miles. 8 months later, is now at 27k.The maintanence schedule in the car suggests quite a few things to do every 5k miles on top of the regular oil change,ie,getting bolts tightened, the drive shaft serviced, rear&front differentials serviced, the list goes on & on. The more miles, the more to do. I guess I drive this car "hard": it lives most of the time in the hot hot desert, but it frequently visits the snow &mountains, LA stop & go traffic, dirt roads, and the occasional weekend 800 mile-long road trip. This car hasn't gotten anything done other than regular oil changes every 3K, filters changed, alignment fixed, & new tires since I bought it . Is it really crucial I get a full tune up now, or is it OK if I wait till 30K checkpoint & have all done then?I expect this will cost at least $400 to do(I got a coupon for a 30k tuneup for a 2wd car that says it's about$300)This car being an AWD,I expect the cost will go up.
