I was putting in a new battery and I accidental crossed the cables. Now my car will not start. So, I got another new battery, still nothing. I checked all the fuses the only one that was burt (and wasn't before) was the Dome fuse. I replace it and just as I put in the new one POP it burt again. The car makes a very faint high pitch sound when I try to start it and that's it. I DO NOT here the starter trying to turn. But I don't think it is the starter because nothing electrical works in the car right now. Also, if it is a relay how do you check that? I am trying to figure this out myself because I really don't have the cash to tow my car and get it repaired at a shop. Help Please!

Check the heavy fuse (100A) ALT in the fuse box under the hood.
