I have a 1995 Toyota T100 truck with 199,000 miles on it. It has an extended cab, bedliner, cruise control, 2WD, and good air conditioning. It has some new parts including the radiator, fuel pump, and two nice Michelin tires. It has a CD changer that usually works. The truck has low compression on cylinder 1 due to a bad piston ring, probably caused by sitting up for 3 years and then being run. It runs and drives great until it's warm, then it hesitates. Everything on this truck is good except for: the front door is slightly bent and makes loud wind noise at 70 mph and it needs a paint job. And, of course, the engine. If I had time I would do the ring job myself, but I don't.
My questions are as follows:
Does anyone have a legitimate idea of what it's worth? Don't tell me it's worth a hundred bucks because these sell for around $6000 in good running order.
Do you think I would get more money by having the ring job done and then selling the truck, or should I just sell it as is?
About how much would a ring job cost? $1500?
If I sell it with the bad engine, do you have any idea what kind of person/business would pay the most for it?
Thanks!
