It would not cost 10-15K. The 7MGTE swap into a truck has been done several times. As well as 1JZGTE and 2JZGTE swaps. The truck does not need to be lenghtened as the 7M can fit into the engine bay of an 80's corolla. You can do it a couple of ways. You can fit the engine in without cutting the firewall(closer to the front but you will have to move your radiator in front of the radiator support or you can take out some of the firewall and keep the radiator in its stock location. The swap will be costly as you will need to make an adapter plate to fit the 4WD W series tranny to the 7M as the 7M's W58 bellhousing is different from the 4WD W55 transmission. You will also need to do some wiring(not so hard since the Truck is Carb and there is not much wiring to deal with anyway. Besides that the Truck rear will hold up all the power but why a 7M you know that in 87-88 the Toyota Truck came with a 22RTE Turbocharged fuel injected 22R. With some slight mods that can be a bad ass motor or even the 22R you have i mean you can put some sidedrafts and some port work as well as a camshaft and more. i mean go to lcengineering.com and see what they have available for the 22R and 22RTE
