mechanical checks? paintjob? I had this car for about two years and now I want to get a smaller car, but I'm completely clueless about what I need to do to prepare this car for selling. I have two options for selling it, sell it to a dealer or sell it privately. But where do I go for these proof that my car is in good condition? please tell me everything i need to do!

If you've maintained the car well all you need to do is have it detailed real good. A clean car sells faster.
If you've ignored regular maintenance over the past 2 years you need to check or change all the fluids, belts, hoses, tires and brakes. Fix what needs fixing.
Either that or resign to sell it cheap because the car will not appear to be well maintained. Dirty, poorly maintained cars don't generate much interest in the used car market.
