Yes. The 2005 Toyota Matrix is a great family car.

It depends on how big of a family you have. The toyota is a good car, but it won't work if you have 5 young siblings. Most people "think" they need a huge car while they can get by with a smaller car. we are just spoiled. Be happy if we have a car, it beats walking.

We loved our but my mother had problems getting in and out due to knee problems so she opted for a Camry later. But the Matrix should be fine for a family of four.
