My 1984 Toyota Tercel 4WD Wagon will start, but will only idle(rather roughly) with accelerator fully depressed. Occasionally the revs will start to build, emitting large amounts of black smoke from exhaust pipe.

I have replaced fuel filter and fuel pump (thanks Daddio-T!), but still no results.

This car sat for a few years without being driven, but had the gas tank flushed out and has been running for about a year and a half. Help!
