My dad is purchasing a new car this spring. He likes the new Camry and is thinking about getting one thats a year old. I want him to get a TL instead (maybe a 2004 or 2005). How can I convince him to get the TL, or at least give it a look? Or am I wrong and would a newer Camry be better?

In my opinion the TL is one of the greatest cars ever built. I'm not sure how to convince him because the Camry has almost everything the TL has, but the TL is a little sportier looking, and is more luxurious. THey are both similar in reliability so it is just a preference choice. But stay away from any TL older than 04, they had major transmission problems.
Both cars are very nice and you will probably end up liking either one.

I can't ever say this enough. I would purchase a Toyota or Honda. These vehicles are really durable and dependable. Let alone, affordable. If they do come up with a problem, you're covered with the warranty or, if there's no warranty it won't cost you an arm and a leg for a fix. No wonder I have always purchased Toyota's and Honda's. They also have great re-sale value. Take my advice, you won't go wrong with these. To back me up, Toyota is selling like crazy. But then again, this is just my opinion of good vehicles. Hope you make the right decision.
I really like Acura's. They are good cars, I think that you are right.
