Help! I'm am putting front brakes on a 2005 Toyota Highlander, and have run into a rather perplexing problem. I managed to remove the caliper unit and replace the shoes and pads with no problem whatsoever, but the rotor on the passenger side is slightly scored. I bought a new one, but when I went to remove the rotor I could not for the life of me figure out how to do it. I was told that there might be a screw or screws that loosen it, but if they are there, I can't find them.

Any help with this problem would be invaluable and much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You have several choices. I haven;t see the rotor so I am going by what you said slightly scored.
You can buy metallic pads and don't do anything to the rotor. After those pads wear down you will be ready to have them turned because the metallic pads will grind the scored pad smooth in the long run.
