Jerry 10-24-2007, 01:36 PM Toyota does tend to make cars that can last for quite a while. However, this can be based entirely on owning the auto from new car to end. You will have to drive both, listen for noises that make you feel uncomfortable. Listening the motor, noises as you hit bumps, turn corners, shift etc. Good Luck...I personally would probably buy the Tercel.. murd 10-24-2007, 01:37 PM I have to disagree with the previous answers and say GEO METRO. Ive had many friends that have had metros and same of them beat the $h!t outta them and others took good care and still none of them has had any problems, and to my knowledge they are still in opertation today. The one i know has 210,000miles. The usual wear and tear had to be fixed but I mean parts for metros are not exspensive at all. Just my two cents take care and best of luck. RAMairGTO72 10-24-2007, 01:40 PM No body in here has said they have known people with BOTH cars, I have. The Tercel is a nice car, however when you look aat the engines the Toyota looses, just bcause it has more parts to fail, and I have seen many sensors go bad on them, as well they eat more gas and can be "pick-ie" with 87 gas. The Geo has 3 cylinders, a TBI injection and ONE over head cam, I have seen home generator engines with more moving parts then this! I owned one (my better half did) and my step sister had a Tercel as well her G/F had one also, the both had problems with power options like "power windows" and little things as well the seats sucked. The Geo comes with a basic Auto or Stick, it has very little options (well they did have a turbo option) . It was a tuff little car that got great MPG and the tires cost less then $20 each. I had planned to keep the car and build a backup Gen. with it, but we had a friend that was in need of a car, and with over 200,000 she never once smoked. I did have to replace the Batt 2 times in 4 years however with the car being a Stick all you needed to do was push start it! I had a 1993 Metro Hatch, very dependable car! |
