Could i splice on a 3.5mm audio jack and use my iPod with it? I was just cleaning out all of the compartments when i realized that there was a wire (that looked like the moulded together wire from an ipod headphone) coming out.

I am currently looking for a pair of broken headphones or speakers to cut the jack off of but if anyone knows whether or not this will even work, that would be very helpful.

Also b4 anyone says this i know that i can use tape adapters and iTrip to use my ipod, but a direct line would be simpler and have better audio quality.
it doesn't have an aux button and when i hooked it up i didn't hear any sound from my ipod coming through.
