Hello all!!!! I am looking at a 2003 Sequoia SR5 4.7L V8, of course:D. It has just over 96K miles on it. It's in very good condition and clean inside and out. It's a 2nd owner vehicle. Also which is way nice is it has a bunch of extra options that a regular SR5 would not normally have. Basically has everything but leather which I don't care much for that at all.

Anyways it drives great, tracks straight down the road, no leaks or rattles.

But my MAIN QUESTION/CONCERN is I know these 4.7L V8's have been known to have a issue with the exhaust manifolds cracking. On this one I've most likely going to purchase, it does have a slight ticking noise only when driving, and mainly under acceleration. But if you pop the hood to try to hear it by letting it idle or reving it up and all different rpm's with the fan clutch off of course to hear better. I cannot hear anything but the sound of the raw power of the good old 4.7L V8!!!!!!!! But when I do hear it while driving like I mentioned it sure does sound like a exhaust leak, very minor if it is one.

Anyone out there ever had this issue???? Or could help me out at all???? Any help would be greatly helpful!!!!

Thanks in advance, Scott.......:D

I own a 2003 sequoia (limited 4WD) w/129,000 miles.

Make sure the timing belt has been changed (at 90,000).

The problems w/mine have been the following:

Rear door latch broken.
Instrument panel gauges (green lights) failed for drive and park positions.
JBL CD player failed.
Fuel quantity gauges goes to zero when below halfway mark.

Other than that it's been a good vehicle. If the one you're looking at is from up North, check the frame for rust. About 14 mpg in town and 17 to 18m on the hwy.

Good luck
