I am wondering how many adult size bicycles will fit into a Toyota Tacoma truck. I need to take a bunch of bikes to a ride that is 40 miles away and need to get a better figure on how many bike will fit in the truck.

I'm trying to see if I can fit 6 bicycles total. Let's say 2 of them are road bikes and the others are more hybrids, if you want to take that into consideration.

The Tacoma I would be renting is from ZipCar and I believe it has 4 seat belts so there is probably tumble-flat rear seats. Would I be able to put a bike or 2 inside the car also?

Information and answers from anyone will be greatly appreciated. So come on all you Toyota Tacoma owners, Tacoma dealers, truck enthusiasts, bike enthusiasts, bike hauling specialists, geometry specialists, puzzle solvers, brain-teaser specialists or anyone who wants to take a stab at it, I need your help.

Thanks!
