I recently purchased a 2006 Auto Petrol LWB Hiace, and I'm finding that its quite thirsty, I average 290Km per full tank. I also don't carry heavy loads

I also have a 2001 Manual Petrol SWB Hiace and i average 400km per full tank. Which is way better

Is this normal for my 2006 hiace to consume that much fuel? if not any ideas on what it could be? thanks

My 1995–2001 Toyota Hiace SBV (Made in 1996 .. Australian Model) 2.4 manual gets between 12.5 when driving as economically as I possibly can, this means rolling down hills with motor off (clutch in ... in gear in case the booster vacuum runs out) motor off at lights and in traffic etc, if it's hot and the air con is in use, it's a minimum of 13.5 litres a hundred k's and as high as 16 litres a hundred K's when delivering in the city (Sydney) ... which is woeful, my old 4.2 litre Hemi Chrysler on LPG got about the same mileage
