The gadget that's on my keys will not unlock or lock my car anymore and when I use my car keys to unlock my car, the alarm sounds off because the red sensor light is still on. My car won't start unless the sensor light is off and I think the gadget operates the sensor light as well.

Does the gadget have batteries - I have not tried to open it because I'm afraid I may break it.
