Today my T100 died on the highway. It seemed to lose power slowly and then die altogether, which leads me to believe the problem to be fuel related. It turns over, but will not start, also making me think it is fuel related.

I immediately suspected either a clogged fuel filter, or a dead fuel pump. However, after pouring through the manual for a while, I noticed that the battery warning light, the A/T OIL TEMP light, and the CHECK ENGINE light are all on and not going out. This now makes me think the problem could be electrical, especially since the battery gauge shows a full charge, and the truck has been sitting for several hours and is not hot.

Any thoughts?

Did you confirm spark? Could be the ignitor, cap, rotor, wires... ;)

EFI relay is either working or not...there's really not an in between. Did you confirm that the fuel pump is running? Fuel pressure test?

Did you check fer any engine codes? How many miles do you have on the engine? Maybe the EGR is clogged up or sticking? :(

I was going to go through all these things, starting with the fuel filter, until I noticed all the dash lights on, which made me think the problem might be computer or fuse related.

I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about all the lights being on before I proceeded to tear my truck apart.

The truck has almost 217K on it. What is an EGR?

EGR...exhaust gas recirculation. The EGR valve can git gunked up and stuck.

By any chance do you have a trailer light adapter hooked up? If it's shorting out, it could present gremlins that would be hard to trace. Disconnect the adapter and see if the problem still exists.

ECU doesn't have anything to do with the dash lights being on. It would have to be in the wiring to cause that kind of problem. Was any maintenance performed prior to this condition? Anything installed? Alarm system?
