New owner of a 91 Previa LE. Love it, but have a (probably dumb) question, hoping someone here can help, sure would appreciate it:

When I get up to highway speed, outside air (cold this time of year) blows down onto feet of both passenger and driver. Heating system is working fine. When I look up under dash there are two passageways (one on each side) that let some light through from the hood compartment... right in the center of the van. Presumably this has something to do with the air intake scoop? Only thing that changes whether air is coming in or not is speed- not any of the settings related to heating/cooling system.

Is this normal? Is there a vent or door that should close to cut off this outside flow (maybe controlled by the fresh/recirculation lever, which seems to be working fine?).

Any thoughts would be great. Driving around in winter is freezing our feet.
