I have a 2004 Limited w/ 101k miles and it now needs a driver side catalytic converter. I am told the OEM is guaranteed to last another ~100k miles but to the tune of ~$2k. Since I am not sure that I will keep this SUV for more than 1-2 years I hate to spend that much. The after market ones are < $1k, but I am told there are lots of problems w/ them and it may not last more than a year or two. Anybody have experience with this and want to provide me with their 2 cents?

Many thanks!
John

I have changed it about few month ago on my 2001 limited has 137,000 mile on it, from one of the branded nam muffler shop, paid $700 plus something and they did good job on it, an other muffler shop estimated me $1300 pluse which I decline, I can check which muffler shop was that and would let you know if you like to.

Thanks for getting back to me Shaq. I ended up going OEM for <$1k then selling the truck a few weeks later. Sporting a new 08 Limited w/ 22k miles so I have some time before I do this again w/ the new SUV.
