If I reduced the weight by removing mats... and maybe seats.. i know it will look tacky, but who cares ( i have tint). Will it reduce weight significantly and improve gas mileage?? I get 24-27 mpg highway/city combined with v4 engine. How can I get more... particularly with weight reduction. and if the rear seats in any car were folded down and moved to the center of the car... how will it affect handling (cornering)?

removing thee seats will make a small difference but then combined with any thing else like your spare or tools might help some but not too much. try also to reduce the amount of petro, this will cut down on weight too. as for weight dist.? having a lighter car will reduce traction in cornering or on dirt roads making it unstable. i'm sure someone else might have a better idea but thats what i got.
