I have a 1997 camry that's been parked since Jan 2008. I took the battery out because it was leaking. I put a battery in that i charged and put a home booster on and the car wouldn't start. The lights would be on but when i turn the key, the starter make one loud click and everything would go blank untill i release the key. I can't find the problem.

you connect the right polarity?(+ and -)??
maybe tha battery is not fully charged. Try using jumper cable while the other car is idling.If still you hear only a click of the starter,the carbon brush in trhe starter might need a replacement.
