My check engine light has been on for about a year. I have brought it to my dealership once and AAMCO twice. All three times they said that it was the gas cap being loose and there was nothing else wrong(the only code showing up when they run thier test).The 3rd time I brought it in was last Tuesday, I just recently got gas on Friday, made sure that I clicked it 3 or 4 times and yesterday the light came back on. Should I buy a new gas cap before I bring it somewhere else and does anyone have a suggestion on a specific gas cap? Is there also a way to reset the CEL myself if buying a new cap doesn't work? I am sick of having to bring it someplace, waste my day and have them tell me it is the same problem and there is nothing else they can do. Please help!!! Thanks in advance.
