Ok, the a/c stopped cooling the air. Compressor doesn't come on, fans still work. I haven't checked any fuses yet.
The HVAC tech at work can loan me a freon detector.
I looked under the hood and the only "port" I see for the A/C system has a small plastic green cap on it that states
"1 psi max" . Is this the re-charge port? Also, if I do have a leak, how do I fix it? Just tighten what ever is loose, or would I have to start brazing or soldering?

I recommend you take it in to a quality local independent repair shop so that they can evacuate the complete A/C system and check for leaks. Then their refrigerant recovery machine reinstalls the filtered refrigerant into your A/C system.
