...the key I get no response. If I turn the key off and depress the clutch again the truck will start. A repair shop just replaced the clutch master and slave cylinders. They advised me that I needed a new starter. This problem didn't happen until they did the repair work. Does it sound like I need a starter or did they possibly break something when they did the repair?

sounds more like the neutral safety switch and it depending one the price of the switch i would say less than $100 to fix and how does this shop know you need a starter??

I would bet a short maybe, loose wire causing your ignition problems. OR.....my car does that sometimes, auto tranny and shop told me it was the neutral safety switch. After moving the gear shift a few times it will "connect" and start.
