I broke the door handle , I am thinking last year and when I try to open the door , the handle just lifts.

so I bought a used handle from a junk yard and would like to replace it.

how difficult would it be and what do I need to take apart first?

thanks for your answers!
For any further answerers , how difficult is it to take the insides of the door apart usually?

I understand you have to take the main frame of the inside apart?

I have a Toyota Corolla and broke the door handle, it did the same thing. What it is a little plastic hook piece inside that attaches to a spring to cause tension and open the door, most likely the hook or spring broke. I started with taking the complete door panel off (inner), first with any handles, latches on inside panel and then the main panel....from there its pretty self-explanatory...that was the easy part...it was a little difficult to put the new pieces in....but I just looked at the inner workings and replaced the parts that were broken and put it all back together.

Its a fairly easy job to do, if you take your time and are not in a hurry. You need to remove the door handle on the inside first, its held in place by two cross head screw's, then you need to remove the plastic surround on the door release, again on the inside. I think its held in place with a single cross head screw. If the truck is fitted with a hand crank window arm, you need to remove the crank before the panel can be removed. To do this you need to push the door panel away from the crank, looking behind the crank you will see a metal clip. Force the clip of with a flat head screw drive. The crank should then come off.
To remove the door card you need to use a large flat head screw driver, starting at the bottom corner. Push the screw driver between the panel and the door, the panel is held in place by a series of small plastic clips. Once you have enough space to insert your hand, pull the panel away from the door until all the clips are loose.
Then you need to lift the panel upwards to slid the panel over the window seal.
