i am in the market to buy a 4X4 and i thought i was going to get a disco , but then someone mentioned the landcruiser . what do you think ? i have about £6000 to spend tops .

Definitely a Discovery, they are great cars, I have one and it is so much fun to drive, I love it, and as the other person said it will hold its money better. Discovery every time. The go anyway vehicle.

The Toyota's probably more reliable (ok, it's almost certainly more reliable), but a Disco has a little more cachet to it, and it's British. Test drive both, and see what you think. Also consider a Nissan Patrol - it's a big bugger, but also good, solid and tough.
