View Full Version : Why would a Toyota 4runner stall for no reason. Won't be able to start up right... ???????? 11-07-2007, 10:37 PM ...away but after the car cools Starter has been changed alt. checks out battery has been changed. so_lo313 11-07-2007, 10:38 PM It could be the oxygen sensor or the mass airflow sensor. They tend to breakdown under heat when they get old. If they give false readings to the computer it could cause it to cut the motor off. They may or may not give an engine warning light. lexusry 11-07-2007, 10:41 PM the common thing on 4runner is the idle speed control valve is binding. replace it with new improve part grandfatherflash 11-07-2007, 10:43 PM this one's a shot in the dark but it happened to me.after spending many manhours and many dollars, the hot stall/no start till cool problem was the 12v power lead to the fuel pump had fallen on the exaust causing the insulation to melt and short it out.when it cooled, the connectiion was broken and the car ran fine. |
