engine or outside? Me and my dad are betting whether the timing belt is in the engine or ourside the engine.

Its in the engine.It will cost an average of $300-400 to replace,at least in Texas.While you are at it,replace the water pump,you'll have yourself a "brand new" engine!

The timing belt is outside the crankcase but is covered by a plastic/alloy cover so technically I guess it's ON the front of the engine. look on google images.
