I am having a heck of a time deciding on what vehicle we will be purchasing next. One day we're set on the Highlander, the next it's the cheaper Grand Vitara and the next it's the CX7. We want stylish, roomy, functional, but most importantly reliable. I've owned both foreign and domestic cars, and foreign have prooven them selves too me. I haven't owned either of the three vehicles listed but have read both good and bad reviews. Wondering if theres any HONEST mechanic's who have experience with these vehicles and how dependable each of them are.
if reliability is your top concern, go with the safe bet which is the toyota. not saying the mazda and suzuki aren't but toyota's reputation should speak for itself. i've had toyotas in the past and they were all rocksolid. had a miata, which is a mazda, which was also rocksolid though i hear mazda's line up isn't as consistently reliable as toyota's. also consider the honda pilot, honda is right on par with toyota in terms of reliability. some would argue even better as toyota's quality levels have declined in recent years. i've also had hondas and ran up over 100k miles easily and would not doubt i could have gone much higher with ease.
and no, i'm not a mechanic but hope this helps you as i've owned a mazda and toyotas in the past. can't say from experience on suzuki.
