Grandpa 11-06-2007, 03:55 AM the old fan froze up,replaced with after market cooling fan. when wired to the harnness fan does not turn,checked fuses OneProudRican716 11-06-2007, 01:25 PM i had a similar problem with a 1994 acura integra and after spending 85 dollars on a piece i didnt need all i had to do was check if electricity was running thru it and it was'nt and after all that the harness' plug just needed a better soure of ground...so b4 spending alot of money on it just check and make sure electricity is running thru the plug cuz all u might have to do is cut open the harness' ground wire and add a piece off to the side of it and attach it to the motor like i did....trust me try this b4 anything else....goodluck Mark R 11-06-2007, 01:26 PM There is a possibility that the fan (whether it be the stock fan or the aftermarket) is thermally controlled. And will only kick on once the car has acheived a certain tempature. Run it for a while and see if that helps. You can also try to connect the fan directly to the battery (using jumpers) to see if the fan actually works. heymcfly 11-06-2007, 01:53 PM if its the radiator cooling fan, it only turns on at a certain temperature. it is switched on by a thermal switch that measures the temperature and upon reaching the preset temperature turns on the fan, it is negatively triggered by a relay located in the fuse box. To know if the fan is actually functioning properly You can start & run the Engine in Idle condition till the cooling watre's temp increases. You can even switch on the light inside the cabin space. the moment the fan starts You will see that the light is getting dim for some seconds. |
