So I lost my gas cap a while back and didn't replace it. It rained the other day and my car started making a rattling noise and not starting the first time I tried the key. I went to the store and got some of that Gas Dry stuff and dumped it in there. It didn't work right away so I figured it needed some time. This morning I start my car (no problems) and let it run for a few and like someone flipped a switch, the rattling goes off so I think great! That's the problem and I'm good! I go back upstairs to tell my boyfriend I don't need a ride to work and sit around for about 20 minutes. I go back to go to work, turn the key and 'CLICK' nothing. I try a few more times and the same thing. I get out of my car, stomp around for a while, try one more time and it starts right up with no rattling. Any clue what seems to be the problem?
I did replace the gas cap and I'm taking it to the auto shop on my lunch. I had it in a few months ago for a new battrery and an oil change and although I'd love to treat myself to a new car I don't think that's gonna work. Thanks for everyone who answered.
